Report out for Dec. 4, 2021:

  • new repo is created for the code to run the new plone.org
  • we have a Plone in a Boxβ„’ spun up to mock up the navigational structure and experiment with the layout and Volto add-ons required
  • we are looking at the nav of websites of other similar CMS projects and will adjust/incorporate our own content
  • we intend to streamline and consolidate our content and make it easier for newcomers
  • Our resident migration guru is working his magic

Report for Dec. 5, 2021:

  • Many people helping
  • Plone 6 demo site to play around and test site structure, content things etc.
  • Many discussions on content, like footer and site structure
  • Discussions on how to separate Plone from other CMS's, what are the most important features and benefits
  • Migration from current Plone.org to Plone 6
  • Created new GitHub - plone/plone.org: Plone.org setup
  • Volto stuff - new footer for plone.org, Volto issues discussed and created
  • Learning to use Plone 6 with Volto
  • Discussion on visuals, can use Pastanaga icons Pastanaga Icons
  • Some content improvements on current plone.org
  • Reasonable progress with updating the Plone Logo/Brand usage guidelines.
  • Implement new Makefile based development workflow for the backend.
  • Etc
