Notes:

  • Translations: No updates
  • Training: No updates
  • Marketing:
    • Plone.org sprint was a success
    • World Plone Day coming soon
      • Looking for content, not just the software side, but also how the community works
    • Érico giving talk on Plone 6 at Python Web Conference
      • Jens has info on a Plone 6 classic project in Vienna
  • Installers
    • Need to sprint on this.
    • Plonecli? Switch cookiecutter templates to bobtemplates.plone?
    • Plone frontend Docker images are up to date with Volto releases.
    • Npx as a "commander" to start a new project (Victor), even to trigger backend cookiecutter/bobtemplate?
    • Buildout is painful, let’s not inflict that on anyone outside of Plone cordev
    • Ansible playbook?
    • TODO: Doodle to schedule Installers discussion sprint to tackle above ideas/question and find one sane way and plan to do things Érico Andrei
  • Accessibility
    • Nothing to report
  • Volto
    • About to ship Volto 15
      • Coordinate with marketing around announcements
    • Docs merged
    • Would be good if a change in classic Plone / coredev, would trigger the Volto tests.
  • Release
    • Alpha 3 is one month old, so Maurits would want to create a new one.
    • Most noteworthy change: plone.volto is now a dependency of the Plone package. Other changes are not so big.
    • But seems good to wait for ES6 to land. No ETA.
      • Sprint next week Wednesday . Needs more testing of migrations
    • Is plone.base still planned for alpha? No further action lately. Yes, all set and ready, but wait till ES6 is merged, then rebase and merge after FWT approval..
    • Various PLIPs are floating, but at some point we need to stop.
    • Beta should really be: no new features, only bug fixes.
    • Deadline: end of March?
    • I expect a Buildout release candidate soon which fixes an error with pip 22.
    • Crazy idea: put the core packages of Plone in a mono repo. But definitely not now. Has advantages and disadvantages. Agreed this is for Plone 7.
