Whitelist just one type in plone.displayed_types in registry.xml

It is not clear if it is yet possible to whitelist a single content type in plone.displayed_types in the registry via registry.xml (Plone 5.0.6)?

Most add-ons that are not policy products have a need to do this, no?

Can anyone clarify? Is this still an issue: https://github.com/plone/Products.CMFPlone/issues/1268 ??
