Search on docs.plone.org seems broken

I created an issue on Github already back in April, but maybe Github is not the best place for this ( https://github.com/plone/documentation/issues/1075 ).

When you go to docs.plone.org and enter a search term in the upper right search field, a broken popup appears - see attached screenshot.

Hitting enter does not return a list with search results, but directly opens some (maybe the first hit?) spot in the documentation (which reminds me of the Google function "I'm Feeling Lucky").

If this is not easy to fix, maybe it would be better to shut down the search?

See also The Future Of Documentation for a deeper and broader discussion about issues with the docs and search.

Personally I don't use the Algolia search as I find it not useful. I either use https://docs.plone.org/search or https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site%3Adocs.plone.org+search-term
