Adding an extra bit of info and clarification that might be useful for planning your trip: if you are thinking of arriving earlier than tuesday 24th, that is absolutely fine, just let us know so we can plan accordingly. The office will be ready and we can start the engines for the sprint together and hangout for dinner on monday.
I booked my flights and apartment. Arriving on 23.09 and leaving Ferrara on the 28.09. maybe extend the google table for arrival and leaving time, ight improve planning. Looking forward to see you guys.
Yeah we will definitely extend the table soon with more info.
Meanwhile, here is a quick sketch I prepared with a map of the town with what in my opinion is the relevant info about lodging.
We don't have any particular deals with hotels/bnbs/places so feel free to browse any lodging of your preference.
The marker is the RedTurtle office where the sprint will happen (Via Nino Bixio 4, 44122 Ferrara, Italy).
The red circle is the 15-20 minutes walk mark (depending on walking speed), that means anything inside that area is about 20 minutes or less walking distance from the office.
The green circle marks the area where nightlife usually happens and where most places for dinner could be, even if there is no list for that yet.
More info about getting around are available in the Ferrara page of the website. Both the information on the page and the travel guide linked at the beginning are from the 2019 conference and mostly still valid but they will be revamped soon with additional details.
Hi everyone, as Salamina Sprint is getting closer we will start posting some info here and on the sprint channel on Discord.
Since people are probably preparing for travel already, I wanted to let you know that weather forecast for this part of Italy (Bologna included) is very unreliable these days. It is changing rapidly and raining more than usual. As of today, a little less rain is expected next week, but I would assume it will rain anyway. It is also a lot colder than the previous years for these reasons.
We are preparing a document with useful info for the sprint, nothing really new except the suggestions for places to eat and drink. Stay tuned. We also updated the Ferrara travel guide we initially created for the conference 5 years ago, as a starting point for people travelling to Ferrara for the first time. https://salaminasprint.redturtle.it/travel-guide-v1.pdf
