Question on Advanced Facets when using Volto-Light-Theme

Hi there,

I'm fairly new to Plone as well as VLT and so would like some guidances on the following issue that I've encountered:

On a project that I'm working on, we're using VLT and incorporating a search block where we have facets to enhance the search block and where we would like " Advanced Facets" enabled.

My understanding is that when "Advanced Facets" is selected that it imports a show/hide button, and automatically hides the advanced facets and only shows them when the show/hide button is clicked on.

The issue that I've encountered is that when VLT is installed, the "Advanced Facets" option doesn't appear to do anything. The advanced facets are always shown and though the show/hide button is available, clicking on it does not show nor hide the facets.

However, when VLT is not installed and "Advanced Facets" is selected, then the show/hide button works as expected.

Has anyone else encountered this issue ? If so, do you have a fix that you'd be willing to share?

Here is an example of the search block with VLT installed, the facets are shown regardless of the button.

Here is an example of VLT not installed, when you click on the hide filters button the facets disappear, and when you click on the show filters button the facets appear and the button changes to "hide filters"

It sounds like a JavaScript conflict or issue with VLT's interaction with the facets. Here’s what you can check:

  1. JavaScript Errors: Check your browser console for any errors when clicking the show/hide button. This might help identify what’s going wrong.
  2. VLT Resources: Ensure that VLT's JS and CSS files are loading correctly. If something's missing, it could cause the toggle to break.
  3. Facet Configuration: Double-check how advanced facets are set up in the search block. Misconfiguration might prevent the button from working.
  4. Custom Scripts: If you’ve added custom JS, try disabling it to see if VLT is interfering with the toggle.
  5. Look for VLT Bugs/Fixes: Search for any known bugs or fixes related to this in the VLT community.
