Updates:

  • Philip;

    • Demo sites are working, updated regularly
    • Trainings are fine-ish
    • Steve Piercy, Katja Süss took over docs
    • Plone 6 Documentation adds Volto frontend docs, automatic deployments
    • Upgrade guide - Hard requirement, breaking changes in backend.
      • Looking pretty good from a developer perspective.
      • Guidance for addons?
    • Upgrade steps are working and tested
  • Paul

    • Current documentation focuses on devs
    • Volto documentation being merged in now
    • Missing frontend user documentation
      • Need a beta so they can start working on it
    • Timo has a lot of gif screencasts that show demos, would be good do integrate since text isn’t always the easiest way to explain process
    • Classic docs are reasonably complete
    • Figuring out what parts can be dropped
    • New structure for docs proposed by Maik Derstappen
    • Accessibility being addressed in both frontends
  • Mikel

    • Classic, more or less on same level as Plone 5
    • Volto, only 4 languages over 90%, additional 5 languages in progress
    • Will post in community to try to get more languages moving
  • Rikupekka

  • Weekly frontend sprints,

    • Slate editor for Volto
    • ES6, removing several older features which work moving forward for Classic
    • Quick alpha 4 release once ES6 branch is merged
    • Most of tough development work on back end is wrapping up in the next few weeks
  • Deployment docs are still an issue.

    • Need at least one deployment solution for small-to-medium sites
      • Status update from Érico?
  • Add Volto team to this discussion (Victor?)

  • This time is generally good for everyone (or at least those on the call -- selection bias!), set a 2 week cadence
