Plone 5.2.1 soft-released

This issue is real blocker but already solved, we are awaiting for next release.
Not sure when they will do next release.
Because of that bug, not possible to reset password.

TTW compilation of resources still broken (see: https://github.com/plone/Products.CMFPlone/pull/3011#issuecomment-570786863 ) - I'll fix these later this weekend.

... should be fixed now: https://github.com/plone/plone.staticresources/pull/61

Confirmed, thanks @thet! More eyes are welcome but with Jenkins green I think we can merge and release a patch version for broader testing, before new Plone release.

Thanks for all of the hard work!

I've pushed new updates to the pending release:

  • archetypes.multilingual 3.0.7 -> 3.0.8
  • Products.CMFPlone 5.2.1rc2 -> 5.2.1rc3
  • plone.restapi 5.0.2 -> 6.0.0
  • plone.dexterity 2.9.2 -> 2.9.5
  • plone.app.locales 5.1.20 -> 5.1.21
  • waitress 1.4.0 -> 1.4.2

Thanks! http://demo.plone.org is now using the pending version.

It would be awesome to also have plone.restapi 6.1.0 added to this release.

I can confirm a broken password reset feature due to the PAS issue. We probably better ship with a new (to be done) release of Products.PluggableAuthService.

can confirm, reset from the users & groups controlpanel doesn't work

Fix on Resources Registry is tested and merged.

Could someone please release p.staticresources so we may include it in Plone 5.2.1?

Can we please put a lid on that and have a release? It's been pending for almost a month now.

I like @pbauer’s idea of including the hotfix. What’s another week?

I've requested a new Products.PluggableAuthService release to fix that regression.

Added:

  • plone.restapi = 6.1.0
  • plone.staticresources = 1.2.1

I did not see that idea above.

Also, I would not want to wait. It is a week till the hotfix. After that, we have to create PRs for all the fixes, review, merge and release them, and have another release candidate. That can easily take another week.

Or if you mean: include the actual hotfix package, then the question is how. Add it to the install_requires of Products.CMFPlone? I would not want that.

Adding the hotfix package to the installer could be useful though, and perhaps worth the wait. I don't know if that normally happens, but I would be in favour of it.

But first: let's ship 5.2.1!

I did not really suggest to wait, I asked if 5.2.1 would also require the hotfix. I'm fine with shipping now.

Yes, 5.2.1 will require the hotfix. Merging all of the hotfix changes usually takes a week or two. Let's get this one out the door.

That said, 5.2.1 is released!

http://plone.org/download/releases/5.2.1 still needs publishing and linking from front page, plus release notes but in the meantime you can try:

Updated unified installer is at https://launchpad.net/plone/+milestone/5.2.1

Updated vagrant is at https://github.com/plone/plonedev.vagrant/tree/5.2.1-3.7

Once the hotfix is out, I will create an "r2" of the unified installer that includes it. I will also update the vagrant.
