I've noted in Plone 5.1 that there is now a control panel for managing actions through the Plone (TTP). This adds one more layer of flexibility for site administrators.
I think it would be nice to extend the current content settings control panel to manage available display views on content types. Basically a site administrator would be able to visit site setup > content settings and then select a content type and manage the available display views and default display view.
