I'm not sure what happens in other mail clients but in mac mail threading seems to be broken for community mails. It groups emails by the same author and topic, but not by topic only.
Seems to be a fixed bug if I follow this right (although for outlook). https://meta.discourse.org/t/emails-are-not-threaded-in-outlook-2013/16501/28
Are we using an older version?
