My name is Kunal, and I'm currently in my pre-final year of an Integrated Master of Technology in Mathematics and Computing.
I recently explored the Google Summer of Code program and came across Plone's past projects. I found them really interesting and impactful, and I’d love to contribute to the community and hopefully participate in GSoC 2026 with Plone.
To be honest, I’m quite new to open-source and Plone itself, and I’m not entirely sure how to start in the right way. I don’t want to approach this casually or give the wrong impression — I really want to learn and contribute properly over time.
It would mean a lot if someone could kindly guide me on:
- What would be the best way to start contributing as a beginner?
- How can I steadily build the skills and familiarity needed for Plone projects?
- Is there anything specific I should read, practice, or work on this year to align better with Plone’s work and GSoC expectations?
I truly want to grow and be helpful in any way I can. Any advice, resources, or direction would be really appreciated.
