Hello Plone community, my name is Vedant Mhatre (please feel free to call me Vedant). I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to GSOC 2025 and collaborate with such an innovative and supportive group. I deeply appreciate Plone’s robust content management, security, and workflow capabilities. However, I’ve observed that its current content listing functionality can be static and inflexible, often requiring developer intervention for even minor updates, a challenge I am eager to solve with a practical, modular solution.
To prepare for this project, I have engaged with the community by exploring discussions on the Volto repository (e.g., issue #4478) and have completed relevant training through training.plone.org. I’ve also set up a local development environment for Volto and familiarized myself with Plone’s REST API. These preparations have provided a solid foundation for understanding both the technical aspects and the specific challenges faced by content editors.
With a strong background in full‑stack development I have extensive experience in React and Python. I am confident in my ability to design and implement a dynamic, reusable Repeater Block add-on that empowers content editors to seamlessly integrate internal Plone content with external data sources while reducing reliance on developers for routine customizations.
I have already submitted my GSOC 2025 proposal for the Repeater Block add-on and would greatly appreciate any suggestions or feedback from mentors and community members to help refine my work further.
Best regards,
Vedant Mhatre
