Display image fields of a content type using Volto (both individual item views and listing views)

This is a note that should help others and my future self. I had a hard time retrieving images that were defined on a custom content type. These are my notes for accessing images using volto.
The scenarios addressed include:

display two image fields for an individual item
a listing view where two image fields must be displayed for each item in the view

I have a committee content type defined using xml on the Plone backend.
The path to the xml would be something like: `mysite.content.src.mysite.content.content.committee.xml`

I haven't tested it, but I'm confident that this should work with content types defined through the web (TTW) as well.

I couldn't find what I needed explicitly outlined in the docs. Did I totally miss it, or did I not look in the right place?
