Language matters. So our terms in IT. We follow GitHub Renaming the default branch from master to main. Existing repositories keep the old name, new repositories will use main as default. This is configured for the collective and plone GitHub organizations.
Once GitHub offers a seamless move for existing repositories, we consider moving all existing in /plone to main (see first link).
