Compatibility of Plone Training Videos with the Current Version of Plone

Hello,
I’m currently exploring the Plone documentation and enjoying the learning process. I noticed that there are two Plone training videos (Part 1 and Part 2) available on the Plone website, but they are about 3 years old.

I wanted to ask:

  1. Are these videos still relevant, and do they match the compatibility and features of the current Plone version (Plone 6)?
  2. Should I watch these older videos to get started, or is it better to wait for updated Plone training videos to be released this year on YouTube?

I’d appreciate any guidance on whether the older videos can still serve as a good learning resource for the latest Plone developments.

Thank you for your time.
Regards,
Aryan

In previous years, trainings at PloneConf were not recorded or published. I don't know which videos you mean because you don't provide any direct links to the resources you mention.

In any case, if they don't use Volto 18, then they're most likely out of date.

I'll share the links

Part 1 – Mastering Plone Development Training--https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/Jzuw3uWtzzI?privacy_mode=1

Part 2 – Mastering Plone Development Training-https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/IEcGKzo3PO0?privacy_mode=1

The Mastering Plone 6 Training updated its installation method since the release of that video. Other than that, you can follow along with the video and the currently published written version, knowing that the latest written version is authoritative.

Or you can time travel to the unmaintained written version from 2022.

It's probably wise to consider materials at docs.plone.org and training.plone.org as the source of truth.

Videos that have been published in the past year (especially at the annual conference) are also likely to be correct for the current version of Plone.
