Is collective.collectionfilter basically the same as sea.facetednavigation , but for collections ?
UPDATE: The reason the filters did not work without code was that the collection only showed 1000 items (so my items was nr. 2000 ++)
facetednavigation worked with collections too from memory.
Yes they are both trying to do the same thing but collectionfilter is aiming to have less JS and work with portlets whereas FN had its own layout system and didn't work without JS.
collectionfilter is the attempt for a more lightweight faceted navigation implementation.
Besides portlets, there are also mosaic tiles. The next release will have support for geolocation filtering.
