It gives great value to hear from someone that knows the REST API so well, both in knowing what is possible and not, and so to figure out which paths are worth pursuing. The docs you linked to on the tiles endpoint of plone.restapi were new to me and we will read up on this when I return to work tomorrow.
Your insights have provided a clarity understanding of the level of commitment and challenges associated with each potential path. This knowledge will help in navigating the solution space more effectively. I appreciate your recommendation to reach out to our Plone administrators for proper integration with the REST API, however I fear that their commitment to help with this particular area is limited.
