portal_languages in Plone 5 gone?

Hi there,

what is the story with portal_languages in Plone 5? Was it removed? And replaced with what?
Strange enough: plone.app.multilingual 3.x (claiming to be Plone 5 compatible only) seems to depend on portal_languages (at least it contains code referencing portal_languages).

Confused...

It is a bit confusing.

the tool portal_languages is still provided. It's now provided by plone.i18n using registerToolInterface. So it is no longer a persistent tool like it was previously.
