For those who haven't run across soft-releases before, this is the last step before the final release. Because things haven't been finalized yet, some packages may change between now and the release. It is not recommended to use soft-releases in production.

I have not gotten a reaction, but I did test it, together with Jean-Paul Ladage, and we did some minor changes in the versions because of that:
Updated plone.app.tiles from 3.0.3 to 3.2.0. We already pinned plone.app.standardtiles to 2.3.2, but that version requires at least plone.app.tiles 3.1.2.
In the core development buildout, moved a few version pins from tests.cfg to versions.cfg so they end up in the official version. Certainly lockfile and msgpack are needed when running bin/buildout install instance. idna is a dependency of requests, which we already pin. chardet is a dependency of feedparser, which is a dependency of plone.app.portlets.
The release is traditionally not official until the installers are made. As you can see in some of the community posts recently, making an installer that works for most people on all major platforms is tricky. The Plone 4.3.20 installer is not ready yet, so the 5.1.7 could take a while as well. Please have some patience, or see if you can help the installers team.
But the versions.cfg on dist.plone.org is ready and recommended.
This is the final release of the Plone 5.1 series. No more bugfix releases will be made. No more maintenance support, but security support is still there for the rest of the year. See also the Plone release schedule.
(I could still make releases of individual packages if someone needs them, but no further official full release, unless some security or data disaster happens, but that is really rare.)
