Hi all,
We have the idea to develop an open source innovation management system like uservoice, ideascale, brightidea etc.
It will be a site where organisations and people can share challenges and help each other to realise them.
Im new on Plone, but browsing through the manuals and youtube clips it would be not such hard by plone(hopefully :-))
Looking to what we want; Creating challenges (public or private). Be able to engage people to bring in ideas.
Vote moments by different evaluation teams. Be able to use a new valuta to set points on ideas etc..
I was wondering if some of you could give me a right direction to start. Should we start with plone and using pages?
Is saw there are already some sort of poll modules. I was playing with plominio as well! Should we take this path?
Maybe someone knows already a nice beginning?
it wouldn't be hard to implement the functionality in plone, but your usecase is not really content management driven. plone is mainly a CMS. i agree with @zopyx, you'd probably happier with a custom made solution, tightly fit to your requirements instead of adapting an existing system like plone, where you have to cut 80% of it's functionality.
i'd do it with pyramid + some fancy database as a backend + javascript only on the frontend.
If you want to make something more like an database application than a content based website and you want it to be part of a plone site, my recommendation is Plomino. http://www.plomino.net/
