The Foundation funds sprints, pays for legal protection of and enforcement of our Plone trademark (e.g. we are currently trying to regain control of a domain name containing "Plone"), subsidizes Plone marketing at related events, sends GSoC students to the conference, runs servers, supports our release manager and communications team lead (yours truly), among many other things.
