I’m planning to apply for GSoC 2026 with Plone and am interested in the “Theming in Volto” idea that has appeared in previous years. I have recently started contributing to Plone and had a small pull request merged in the training repository.
I’m currently drafting my proposal and wanted to confirm whether my understanding of the problem space aligns with current expectations. My focus is on improving the developer workflow for theming in Volto by introducing a reusable add-on that encapsulates theming concerns without requiring changes to core Volto code.
I would appreciate any feedback on whether this direction still makes sense for upcoming GSoC editions, or if there are areas I should reconsider while drafting the proposal.
