How many links a new user can add to a post?

Continuing the discussion from Bug tracking & triaging proposal:

Thanks for telling us! It's now 5 links per new user, I hope that'll suffice, Jean

Ugh! Another blank post, and blank mail back to me :frowning: It looks like Discourse still has some growing pains.

Here is the reply I sent by mai:

The main problem is that it fails silently, creating a blank post with
no sign of what went wrong.

It should bounce the mail stating what the problem is, and not create
a blank message.

The default-trust-level-settings of Discourse for new users are quite restrictive, it's now changed to max-trust-level to every user, fitting to our usual community manner.
If you should still encounter problems, please let us know, and thanks again for the infos!

Hi Ida .. I'm really just pointing out places where the email
integration is not quite smooth, I hope that's useful.

Here is my original post, not mangled by discourse (it dropped the whole interleaved response).

Like here, normal email quoting already includes from and date, but
discourse forgets about that.

That's OK, as long as users are informed of what's happening; e.g. a
bounce with an error message and no blank posts being created.
I.e. my point is not that the settings need to be relaxed, but rather
that things should not mysteriously fail.

Your feedback is much appreciated Jean! And you are right, the error
should not fail silently, I'm currently ignoring this on purpose, due to
other prios (category-filtering, e.g.) and assuming we should be free of
restriction-errors now, every user holds full trust.
I'm not sure if I got that right about the date you just reported. For
testing it, this reply is also done via mail, I didn't change your
reply, let's see, how the markup turns out here now in the webinterface...
