Catalog clear and rebuild restarting over and over

Continuing the discussion from AttributeError on catalog rebuild:

I'm using the clear and rebuild option in the catalog to get rid of some broken objects but, after finishing the process, it's restarting over and over again; right now is running the fifth or sixth rebuild in a row.

have you ever seen this behavior?

The publisher will retry a request up to 3 times if it's hitting ConflictErrors when it commits. I'm not sure what would cause more than that unless you clicked the button more than once.

very weird indeed; seemed like something was happening in between and I ended up by killing the instance.
